Sheila M. Cruz
Sheila M. Cruz is a paralegal for the Litigation, Medical Malpractice and Labor and Employment Law practice groups assisting attorney H. Joseph Cohen. With more than 35 years of paralegal experience, Sheila has participated in various types of litigated matters, including, but not limited to, contractual, commercial, employment, medical malpractice, long term care defense, benefits, tort, products liability, insurance, and worker's compensation disputes.
She has experience with all stages of the litigation process at the local, state and federal court levels. She assists with necessary investigations, document gathering from third parties, and various discovery and pleadings. She is responsible for preparing documents and exhibits for trial, preparing discovery requests and document responses, and obtaining and maintaining records.
Ms. Cruz has knowledge of technology tools and software used by the firm's attorneys, including the Microsoft Office Suite. She has attended several seminars pertaining to Litigation topics, including Medicine Made Easy; Indiana Discovery Skills for Paralegals and Indiana Advanced Litigation Skills for Paralegals. Ms. Cruz attended Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne where she completed course work in Criminal Law, Business Law, Sociology and Psychology.
