David Steiner focuses his practice on compliance counseling for businesses and individuals; real estate transactions, specializing in environmentally impacted real estate, brownfields development, and tax-free exchanges; and business transactions, including formation, acquisitions, sales, and contracts.
Throughout his career, David has represented businesses and individuals in negotiating and resolving environmental claims with state and federal regulators and in acquiring, selling, and leasing real estate across the Midwest and Southeast. He regularly represents purchasers, sellers and lenders in transactions involving environmentally impacted commercial properties. His cases include representation of a steel manufacturer in an environmental risk assessment, real estate, title insurance, and mortgage financing matters in the acquisition of steel manufacturing facilities, and negotiation and settlement of environmental insurance claims for a major scrap metal processor and dealer.
He is ranked by Martindale-Hubbell an AV® Preeminent™ attorney based on its peer review ratings. David is an active member of the Allen County Bar, the Christian Legal Society, and Quest Club. He is a board member for the Headwaters Park Alliance, a volunteer attorney for Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, and counsel for The Friends of the Parks of Allen County.
David earned his B.S., Business Administration, summa cum laude, in 1986 from Taylor University, Upland, Indiana. He then earned his J.D., cum laude, in 1989 from Indiana University, Bloomington. David is admitted to practice before the Indiana state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
