As an attorney at Barrett McNagny, John Martin focuses on counseling corporations and other business entities in a variety of business-related transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, financing, and the tax consequences of various transactions. His representative matters include being buyer's counsel in a $45 million asset purchase of all operating assets of a steel mini-mill, buyer's counsel in $19 million purchase of all operating assets of a steel processing plant, and representation of management in a leveraged buyout of a plastics automotive and truck supplier.

An AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney based on Martindale-Hubbell's peer review ratings, John has also been selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America® publication in the area of Corporate Law since 2008. He has presented at numerous seminars on businesses-related law topics and has been a speaker at local colleges and universities. John is a member of the Allen County Bar, the Indiana State Bar, and the American Bar Associations. In addition to being an active volunteer with the United Way, he has been a past member of the board of directors for many community groups, including Entrepreneur's Alliance of Northeast Indiana, the Boys & Girls Club, and Leadership Fort Wayne.

John received his A.B., Political Science, from Indiana University in 1975, and received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1978. He is admitted to practice before the Indiana state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.
