Barrett McNagny LLP is pleased to announce that Robert W. Kistlerhas joined the firm. Bob will concentrate his practice in the area of employee benefits and ERISA compliance. He works with employers, plan administrators, and service providers on plan design and administration, fiduciary responsibilities, plan compliance, and plan corrections.
Bob is a member of the Allen County, Indiana, and American Bar Associations. He is a 2014 graduate of the Indiana State Bar Association’s Leadership Development Academy (LDA) and has served as a member of the LDA committee since 2015. From 2012-2014, Bob chaired the Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee of the Indiana State Bar Association. He is active in Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana, an organization that sends veterans to Washington D.C. to visit memorials honoring their service and sacrifice, and he helped create the Indiana Lawyers for Soldiers program. In 2014, Bob received the Pro Bono Publico Award from the Indiana Bar Foundation and the Indiana Pro Bono Commission for his work assisting veterans.
Prior to joining Barrett McNagny, Bob worked for nearly a decade in the area of employee benefits at the Fort Wayne office of a national firm. He also served in the U.S. Army for over ten years in various leadership and staff positions.
Bob received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Toledo College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. He has a B.S. in business administration with highest honors from the University of South Dakota. Bob has been admitted to practice before the Indiana State Courts and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
