William graduated with his B.S. from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1958, then earned his J.D. in 1964 from Indiana University School of Law. He is admitted to practice before the Indiana state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
