Attorney Dawn Mattox has extensive experience in counseling physicians, physician assistants, nurses, dentists, chiropractors, physical therapists and other health care providers in the areas of office practice and procedure, compliance plan development, HIPAA privacy concerns, electronic medical records issues and fraud/abuse laws. She also advises these clients with respect to health care reform issues, governance and businesses issues relating to health care entities. Dawn represents non-health care businesses in a variety of issues, including forming businesses, emerging business planning, corporate governance, joint ventures and mergers/acquisitions.
Some of Dawn’s representative matters include advising medical specialty groups and individual practitioners on a variety of business issues such as the creation of large multi-specialty group practices, negotiations and contracting with managed care entities and insurance, joint ventures and hospital affiliations. She has counseled physicians relating to health care reform issues and the impact on practices, and has developed HIPAA and Fraud/Abuse Compliance Program Manuals for health care providers and health plans.

She has been a speaker and author for multiple groups in the area, and is a member of many associations, including the Allen County Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Women’s Business Law Network, among others. Dawn also serves on the Board of Directors for Francine’s Friends and for the Neighborhood Health Clinic.
Earning her B.A., Political Science from Miami University, Oxford, OH., in 1989, Dawn went on to receive her J.D., cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law in 1992. She is admitted to practice before the Indiana state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the United States Tax Court.
