Labor and Employment Attorney
Representing and advising employers in a wide range of labor and employment matters, including litigation, administrative proceedings, and day‑to‑day compliance counseling. This role involves working closely with business clients to manage risk, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Defend employers in employment-related litigation and administrative actions, including claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues, and wrongful termination
- Advise employers on compliance with employment laws and regulations, including hiring, discipline, termination, leave, and accommodations
- Conduct or advise on workplace investigations and prepare investigative findings
- Draft and review employment-related documents, including policies, handbooks, contracts, and separation agreements
- Represent clients before courts and administrative agencies such as the EEOC, DOL, and state labor agencies
- Provide practical, business‑focused legal counsel to employers of varying sizes and industries
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Indiana
- Four plus years of experience in labor and employment law, preferably representing management/employers
- Strong litigation, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and work collaboratively with clients and colleagues
