Barrett & McNagny LLP is pleased to announce that it has been named as one of the top nationally ranked law firms in Fortune Magazine’s inaugural “2012 Top Ranked Law Firms” listing in Fortune’s December 26, 2011 “2012 Investor’s Guide” issue. This Law Firm Ranking, compiled for the first time in its 140 year history by Martindale-Hubbell®, the nationally known firm that assigns ratings to lawyers based upon standards of professional skill and integrity, was based upon the law firm’s percentage of attorneys carrying the highest “AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating.” The List also appeared on CNNMoney.com.

More than 250,000 law firms in Martindale’s registry were reviewed and ranked in preparation for the 2012 Investor’s Guide, of which nationwide 965 throughout the country were selected for inclusion on that List. Barrett & McNagny LLP was the only Fort Wayne-based law firm to have been selected.

Charles Christopher Dubes elected Partner

Barrett & McNagny LLP is pleased to announce that Charles Christopher Dubes was elected Partner effective January 1, 2012.

Mr. Dubes concentrates his practice in the areas of Medical Malpractice defending physicians and physician groups. He also practices in the areas of Long Term Care Litigation and General Litigation. He has served as president of the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre Board of Directors and was a member of the Board of Directors of Active 20-30 Club.

Kimbrough Admitted to American College of Trial Lawyers

Thomas M. Kimbrough has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America.

The induction ceremony at which   Thomas M. Kimbrough became a Fellow took place recently before an audience of approximately 800 persons during the recent 2011 Annual Meeting of the College in La Quinta, California.Founded in 1950, the College is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only and only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of fifteen years trial experience before they can be considered for Fellowship.

Membership in the College cannot exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province. There are approximately 5,800 members in the United States and Canada, including active Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, Judicial Fellows (those who ascended to the bench after their induction) and Honorary Fellows. The College strives to improve and elevate the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the trial profession. Qualified lawyers are called to Fellowship in the College from all branches of trial practice. They are carefully selected from among those who customarily represent plaintiffs in civil cases and those who customarily represent defendants, those who prosecute accused of crime and those who defend them. The College is thus able to speak with a balanced voice on important issues affecting the legal profession and the administration of justice.

Thomas M. Kimbrough  is a partner in the firm of Barrett & McNagny LLP and has been practicing in this city for over 30 years. The newly inducted Fellow is an alumnus of Indiana University- Indianapolis School of Law and concentrates his practice in the areas of Labor and Employment and Employment Litigation. Mr. Kimbrough is active in a variety of community organizations, including being a member of the boards of the United Way of Allen County, YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne, and Parkview Hospital.
